The MY Basilisk is a 26.8-metre former Canadian fishing trawler transformed into a private expedition yacht, blending rugged North Atlantic strength with modern comfort. Originally built to Lloyd’s commercial standards, her robust steel hull and upgraded systems make her perfectly suited for long-distance, ocean-crossing adventures.

Refitted as a unique expedition vessel, Basilisk now offers contemporary accommodation, extended deck space, and upgraded navigation and research capabilities. She has travelled from Canada to the Caribbean, Europe, the Red Sea and finally Seychelles—making her a true ocean explorer, purpose-built for remote cruising and one-of-a-kind voyages

Facilities

Accommodation

Basilisk accommodates 6 guests in 3 spacious, light-filled cabins, each featuring en-suite bathrooms with glass showers, ceramic basins and fresh-water toilets.

• Master Cabin (Main Deck): Queen bed with twin mattresses, operable screened windows, ample storage, en-suite bath with Canadian red maple counters and large glass shower.
• Port & Starboard Guest Cabins (Lower Deck): Mirror-image cabins, each with queen bed, fixed windows, en-suite bath, and generous storage.

High ceilings and large windows create a bright, airy feel throughout. All cabins include privacy blinds, reading lights, and daily housekeeping service

Dining & Cuisine

Cruises are full board, including breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared fresh in Basilisk’s professional galley. The cook and crew serve a blend of international favourites and authentic Indian Ocean dishes, using local ingredients wherever possible.

Meals are enjoyed indoors in the air-conditioned dining salon or outdoors on the shaded aft deck, accompanied by soft breezes and ocean views

Diving & Water Activities​

Basilisk is fully equipped for both diving and ocean exploration.

• Dedicated dive room with 2 Coltri compressors serving 8 tanks each
• 12 steel 12 L tanks + 2 junior 10 L tanks available

• Deck showers for rinsing off after dives

• Rudolf: 7.6 m USCG SAFEBoat with dual 135 HP Honda engines, Garmin radar and GPS for longer dives and expeditions.
• Rudolfino: 3.6 m Highfield RIB with 20 HP Honda engine for closer sites and shore transfers.

Bridge & Fly Decks​

The Fly Deck provides panoramic views and a quiet retreat for early-morning birdwatching or stargazing far from light pollution. Ten solar panels on the Bridge Deck supply renewable energy to the vessel’s systems, reinforcing Basilisk’s eco-friendly ethos.

​Crew

A small, experienced crew ensures attentive service throughout each voyage. Guests are supported by a Captain, Engineer, Cook and Steward, with dive instructors or naturalist guides joining by request.

Health & Safety

Basilisk follows international maritime safety procedures and maintains a full inventory of life-saving and communication equipment.

Her onboard anaerobic black-water treatment system and grey-water holding tanks protect the delicate marine environment. Guests are encouraged to use biodegradable products to support cleaner seas
